1824 Julius Hanks bronze bell (1 of 3)

Julius Hanks was the son of Benjamin Hanks who cast his first large bell in 1791. Paul Revere tried to cast his first large bell the year after, in 1792. Julius, took over the responsibility of his dad's foundry upon his father's death in 1824.  Interesting note is that Andrew Meneely in 1818, at the age of 15, became an apprentice at the Hanks foundry.  Andrew Meneely took over the foundry in 1825.
