Program Introduction
Our proud history of excellence guides the current players and coaches as we look to build upon the tradition of success. More than wins and tradition, however, we want players, coaches, and teams that exemplify excellence on and off the field. Our goal is to provide players with a positive, supportive, and competitive environment that challenges them to be better teammates, players, and individuals.
Types of Players
We want student-athletes with . . .
a team-first mentality who place team success above individual recognition;
a strong sense of character, sportsmanship, and responsibility on and off the field;
a grit to compete and not quit;
an ongoing commitment to fitness, athleticism, and strength; and
a willingness to work relentlessly and accept direction.
Player Attributes
Physical Aspects: fitness, strength, speed, agility, endurance, health. We will use our fitness testing system to determine part of the physical evaluation.
Psychological Qualities: teamwork, attitude, effort, leadership, toughness, response to adversity, experience.
Technical Skills--dribbling, shooting, clearing, heading, passing, receiving, finishing, defending.
Tactical Aptitude--intelligence, movement, anticipation, support, decision-making skills.
