PASTOR J. V. GROHMAN
In December of 2013, I accepted the pastorate of a new group of believers in Smithville, Tx which became known as Believers in Christ Fellowship, Inc. God has given His blessings on the church from the very beginning as we have grown from our original number and are continuing to grow as the Lord leads. I have been very blessed and humbled to be able to lead a congregation that loves God and is continuing to grow spiritually.
I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida where I began attending church when I was three weeks old, thanks to a Mother and Grandparents who knew the importance of a child growing up in the Lord. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at thirteen years of age, and am happy to say that I have been in church my whole life. I was in the military for two years as a Medic, and met my husband there. When we were discharged from the military, God blessed us by allowing us to attend and graduate from Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo. God blessed me by making it possible to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and a Minor in Missions. When my husband and I began College, we had a four year old daughter, and while we attended CBC, we pastored a local church on the outskirts of Springfield. After graduating from the first Assemblies of God established college, my husband and I were missionaries, first to the Indian church in Albuquerque, New Mexico where we were the Christian Education directors. After a time, we were called to be missionaries to the American Indians, first in Ojo Encino, New Mexico and later with the Alabama-Coushatta Indians in Livingston, Tx.
After that period of time, we moved to Bastrop County where we pastored a church and then later became available to help out with other ministries, especially with the music and teaching.
I am thankful to God that He has been with me and my family through the years, and that He is once again involving us in His work. I know that the time we have left to preach and teach the Gospel is very short, and so our church is desiring to reach the ones who are discouraged and feel that there is no hope left. The Good News is that Jesus saves us from our sins, never to remember them again, and He gives us a new life in Him! Praise God! Paul said it so well in II Cor 5:17 - “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new.”
