In 2018, Belfast Met launched the Belfast Film and TV School based at the college’s e3 campus on Springfield Road. We deliver award winning Visual Effects, Animation/Motion Graphics courses at our bespoke Film, Television and Sound studios. With a fully operational TV and Green Screen studio and Motion Capture facilities, a range of professional HD location cameras and industry-standard sound equipment, along with an impressive suite of post-production facilities that include dedicated industry specification computers for each student, our future facing campus equips the next generation of VFX, Motion Graphics/Animation Artists with the skills required to work in this growing industry.
Visual Effects and Motion Graphics/Animation is an exciting and expanding industry both locally and internationally. Completion of this course will enable further opportunities in Higher Education but primarily can lead to direct employment with local and international companies. Successful graduates have proceeded to work on exciting productions such as Game of Thrones, Captain Marvel, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and TV series Watchmen and Line of Duty.
The course prides itself on direct industry links and its core lecturing team of professionals who have come from or are currently practicing in industry. This will provide you with a combination of creative, technical and practical skills required to develop your core knowledge, understanding and abilities needed to work in the Visual Effects and Motion Graphics/Animation sector.
The Visual Effects course is primarily designed to prepare you for roles within the Animation, TV and Feature Film production pipeline with an emphasis on 3D skills and the future development of cutting edge Virtual Production techniques.
