Belfast City Inclusion Kicks Off with Laughter, Friendship, and Blindfold Penalties
Belfast City Inclusion made a memorable debut this week with their first-ever training session — and what a start it was.
Eighteen enthusiastic players turned up to take part, bringing energy, openness, and plenty of laughs. From warm-up drills to small-sided games, the atmosphere was electric with encouragement and connection. For some, it was their first time meeting each other, but by the end of the session, friendships had already begun to form — exactly the kind of community spirit the club set out to foster.
The session was designed with inclusivity and fun at its core. Players of all backgrounds and abilities were welcomed, with coaches focusing on building confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment. And while the football was great, the highlight of the day came right at the end: a round of blindfold penalties that had everyone — players and spectators alike — in stitches.
Laughter echoed around the pitch as players tried their best to find the net with no sight, relying only on their teammates’ directions. Most missed and one succeeded. But nobody minded — it was all part of the fun.
As the players left the pitch smiling, one thing was clear: Belfast City Inclusion is more than just a team. It’s a space where everyone belongs.
This is only the beginning, and if the first session is anything to go by, the future is bright — and full of laughs.
