Belaro (“Belaro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, shared, retained, and protected when you use the Belaro mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
Belaro is built to support voluntary, temporary, non-commercial pet care. It helps an owner who needs short-term assistance connect with a person who enjoys animals and values a temporary period of companionship. Belaro does not process boarding fees, commissions, tips, or other payments between users.
Optional digital memberships and Coins are purchased only through Apple In-App Purchase and are separate from user-to-user care relationships.
This Policy applies to information processed through the Service, Belaro support communications, and related technical systems. It does not govern third-party services that Belaro does not control.
We may collect:
Email address;
Password or authentication credential in protected form;
Display name, user identifier, biography, and avatar;
Account settings and membership status.
We may collect information entered into Pet Spaces and Pet Passports, including:
Pet name, species, birthday, age, and photos;
Personality and behavior notes;
Meals, diet, restrictions, and care instructions;
Medication notes and health-related observations;
Emergency contact information;
Space status and care-period information.
We may collect:
Personal greeting and care preferences;
Supported pet types;
Availability, experience, and home-environment information;
Address or location information you choose to provide;
Safety notes;
Care-request dates, status, and additional instructions;
Handover and completion information.
We may collect:
Activity type, mood, notes, timestamps, and photos;
Pet status updates;
Memory Card details, cover images, summaries, favorites, and related media references.
We may collect text messages, photos, videos, timestamps, participants, delivery status, report information, and other metadata associated with in-app communications.
We collect information you provide when contacting belaro8090@outlook.com, reporting a concern, appealing an action, or making a privacy request.
Depending on the app version and enabled services, we may collect:
Internal user and session identifiers;
Device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and region;
IP address and general network information;
Login, security, diagnostic, crash, and performance events;
Feature-interaction information used to maintain and improve the Service;
APNs device tokens when notifications are enabled;
Apple transaction, product, subscription, and entitlement identifiers;
Advertising or tracking identifiers only where permitted by your ATT choice and applicable law.
For Apple In-App Purchase, we may receive product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchase validation information, entitlement status, and refund or revocation signals.
Apple processes payment information. Belaro does not receive complete credit-card numbers, debit-card numbers, or Apple Pay credentials.
We may use information to:
Create, authenticate, and secure Accounts;
Provide Pet Spaces, Foster Spaces, Pet Passports, and Care Requests;
Support the request, selection, handover, active-care, completion, and Memory Card journey;
Display Daily Logs, photos, pet status, and care history;
Deliver text, photo, and video chat;
Generate requested AI Care Insights;
Validate Apple subscriptions and Coin balances;
Send notifications with permission;
Process reports, blocks, moderation, and safety actions;
Prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and technical attacks;
Diagnose errors and improve performance and usability;
Respond to support, legal, and privacy requests;
Comply with applicable law and protect users, animals, and the public.
We do not use the Service to process payments between owners and caregivers or operate a paid boarding marketplace.
Belaro’s core functions require some information to be visible to other users. Depending on the context and product settings, this may include:
Display name, avatar, biography, and membership badge;
Foster Space introduction, supported pet types, availability, experience, home information, address or location details you choose to share, and safety notes;
Care Request dates and instructions;
Selected Pet Passport information;
Daily Logs and status updates during an active arrangement;
Chat messages and shared media;
Information needed for handover and care coordination.
Share only information that is appropriate and necessary. Belaro may limit visibility according to relationship status and feature design.
Belaro offers optional AI Care Insights. When you actively request an analysis, selected information may be transmitted to a third-party AI service through Belaro’s technical systems.
The data may include:
Pet name, species, age, and personality;
Diet, restrictions, medication notes, and care instructions;
Current care status;
Recent Daily Log activities, moods, timestamps, and written notes;
Technical instructions necessary to generate the requested result.
Photos, chat messages, email addresses, emergency-contact details, or other information should not be transmitted unless the relevant AI feature expressly requires and discloses such processing.
Third-party AI processing is used to provide the requested analysis, maintain safety, and prevent abuse. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and is not veterinary, medical, behavioral, safety, legal, or other professional advice.
Do not use the AI feature for information you are unwilling to have processed for the requested analysis.
With permission, Belaro may access:
The camera to capture pet photos, profile images, Daily Log images, or chat media;
The photo library to select existing photos or videos;
The microphone when recording video or other media that includes audio.
Media you choose to upload may be stored on cloud infrastructure and shown to authorized users according to the relevant feature.
Permissions can be changed in iOS Settings. Some functions may become unavailable if permission is denied.
If you allow notifications, Belaro may send messages about:
New chat activity;
Care Requests and caregiver interest;
Handover and care-status changes;
Daily Log updates;
Memory or account activity;
Important service, security, or product notices.
Belaro may store an APNs device token associated with your Account. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
Where applicable, Belaro may present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (“ATT”) prompt before accessing data used to track a user or device across apps or websites owned by other companies.
If you allow tracking, permitted identifiers may be used for attribution, measurement, or related purposes described at the time of collection.
If you deny tracking, Belaro will not access ATT-gated identifiers for cross-app tracking.
Denying ATT permission does not prevent access to core Pet Space, temporary care, chat, Daily Log, Memory Card, subscription, or AI functions.
You can change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Plus and Pro subscriptions and consumable Coin packs are sold exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase.
Belaro uses transaction and entitlement information to confirm purchases, unlock digital features, maintain balances, and respond to refunds or revocations. Belaro does not use third-party payment processors inside the app for digital goods.
Apple’s handling of payment data is governed by Apple’s privacy practices.
We may use service providers for:
Cloud hosting and databases;
Media storage and delivery;
Authentication and security;
Push notifications;
Analytics, diagnostics, and crash reporting;
Apple purchase validation;
Third-party AI inference;
Customer support and legal compliance.
These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for Belaro and subject to applicable contractual or legal safeguards.
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:
Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or valid government request;
Enforce the Terms of Service;
Investigate reports, fraud, abuse, threats, or animal-welfare concerns;
Protect the rights, safety, and property of Belaro, users, animals, or the public;
Detect or address security and technical issues;
Complete a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset transfer, subject to continued protection of the information.
Belaro does not sell personal information for money. Belaro does not use user-to-user pet-care information to operate a paid boarding marketplace.
Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of certain forms of sharing or targeted advertising, Belaro will honor valid requests and ATT choices as required.
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Belaro or its service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
Where required, Belaro will use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
Belaro retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and complying with law.
Retention may vary by data type:
Account and profile data may be retained while the Account is active;
Daily Log access may depend on membership level and the limits displayed in the app;
Memory Cards may remain until deleted by the user or the Account is deleted;
Chat history may be retained for delivery, limited history, moderation, security, and legal needs;
AI request and response data may be retained for a limited period for delivery, abuse prevention, debugging, or quality and safety purposes;
Purchase records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, and Apple reconciliation;
Deleted data may remain temporarily in backups before scheduled removal;
Report and enforcement records may be retained where necessary for safety and abuse prevention.
Belaro uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, such as encrypted network transmission, authentication controls, protected credential handling, and restricted access to production systems.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and Belaro cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
Access information held about you;
Correct inaccurate information;
Delete your Account and associated information, subject to lawful exceptions;
Obtain a portable copy of certain information;
Object to or restrict certain processing;
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
Opt out of certain forms of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable;
Appeal certain privacy decisions where local law provides that right.
You can edit certain profile and pet information in the app, manage blocked users, adjust iOS permissions, and initiate Account deletion through Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

You may initiate permanent Account deletion in the app through Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
Deletion is intended to delete or de-identify Account information and associated User Content, subject to information Belaro is required or permitted to retain for security, fraud prevention, report handling, dispute resolution, accounting, backups, or legal compliance.
Deleting a Belaro Account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription through Apple ID settings.
Belaro is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly permit children to create Accounts or participate in care arrangements.
If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact belaro8090@outlook.com so appropriate action can be taken.
Belaro may update this Privacy Policy. The Last Updated date will be revised, and additional notice will be provided where required by law.
