Hello Wonderful ESL Students!
Welcome new students! New students will join our class on Tuesday September 22nd!
We have been very busy this month!! Here's a look at what we've been working on.
We have been studying technology:
We learned how to log into classroom laptops to complete assignments on Canvas and Burlington English.
We installed Canvas and Burlington English on our phones, learned about email etiquette, and practiced using Google Workspace apps (Google Drive, Google Forms, Google Docs).
We learned how to use the agenda on Canvas, as well as how to write on the discussion board and how to send the teacher messages.
We started using Zoom for classes and learned how to use the Zoom chat and reactions.
Grammar, Reading and Writing
In grammar we learned adjectives for describing a person's physical appearance and personality.
We started studying simple present tense and present continuous tense verbs.
We read articles about learning and the brain and discussed study skills and habits.
We wrote SMART goals using Padlet.

All students return Monday, August 24, 2026!
Conversation Classes Start Monday, August 24, 2026! These free classes are a great opportunity for ESL students of all levels to practice speaking and every day conversations. Conversation classes are every Monday and Wednesday from 11:15am-1:00pm (Room 211) and from 4:45pm-6:15pm (Room 208).
Are you interested in getting your US Citizenship? Citizenship classes start Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Ask Marialice to sign up!

Zoom- Mondays and Tuesdays - Zoom from your location or the COMPUTER LAB in Room 202 at Escondido Adult School
Room 211- Wednesdays and Thursdays (NO class on Fridays)
TIME: 9:30am- 11:00am

CLASS INFORMATION
Students should expect 1 hour of asynchronous homework per day
Need help? Join Marialice in Room 211 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:00-11:30 for extra help.
Burlington English is our online textbook. Click here to log in to Burlington English.
All students will join our online CANVAS CLASSROOM
To log into Canvas at home, use this website portal.educationtocareer.net
(use your school email and the password provided by the teacher)
Attendance is Important! Please attend our Wednesday and Thursday class in-person every week. Please attend the ZOOM classes Monday and Wednesday. If you plan to be absent for longer than one week, please let the instructor know to avoid being dropped from the class. Students must attend 70% of classes or you will be dropped from the course!
