My name is Jared Ramos, I am from Richmond, California and I recently just turned 19 years old. When I was younger I used to live in San Fransico for a couple of months before coming to Richmond. During the years I learned so much about writing in schools and how it'll be super important in the future. So when the time came I had to apply to colleges and I applied to 5 different schools SF State, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Chico, and Sac State. When I was applying I didn't really care which school I went to because, during my senior year, my school went downhill. I used to go to Leadership Public Schools here in Richmond. The school was super strict with some rules but when covid hit most of the good staff members left the school. When covid started to slow down we were able to come back to school but it was very short-staffed. During this time there weren't any teachers so some of us had subsites that wouldn't teach at all so when I choose to go to Sac State the first few weeks were super rough. I knew some stuff but my habits were horrible. At first, I was nervous to begin his English course because I didn't learn a single thing during my senior year so I felt like I was a year behind. A few weeks into the English course I had already learned so much more than I did during my senior year. Then throughout the months, I've developed so many skills I didn't have thanks to this class and the Professor. Overall this has been a very helpful course 1 it's required but the help I've gotten has helped me improve so much.
