CARGO TRAILER MINI-SPLIT AC
Mini split air conditioners are an excellent option for smaller spaces, and they're perfect for use in a camper or RV. We'll show you the tools and materials you'll need for the installation, as well as the steps involved in the process. From the placement of the indoor and outdoor units and how to mount them securely to the running the necessary electrical wiring and connecting the refrigerant lines, we will show you how we did it. As always doing things yourself saves you money and allows you to BE FREE!!!

AC Vacuum Pump
STEP-BY-STEP
Step 1: Determine where you are going to mount the outside unit and make any modifications to solidify the installation spot.
Step 2: Secure the outside unit to the designated spot.
Step 3: Make a template for the inside unit and determine your interior spot for the AC.
Step 4: Cut the hole for the AC wiring.
Step 5: Secure the electrical box for the AC wires to the outside of the cargo camper.
Step 6: Attach the electrical wire to the outdoor unit.
Step 7: Attach the outdoor pipe to cover the electrical wires.
Step 8: Wire the AC outdoor unit to the interior electrical box.
Step 9: Hang the interior unit bracket inside.
Step 10: Wire the indoor unit to the exterior unit.
Step 11: Hang the interior unit being careful to slowly bend the copper lines.
Step 12: Connect the copper lines.
Step 13: Prep the AC line vacuum pump.
Step 14: Vacuum the lines.
Step 15: Disconnect the pump and release the refrigerant.
Step 16: Hook up the shore power and turn on the AC.
TIPS & TRICKS
When using painters tape, fold over one edge so it isn't sticky and you can grab the tape easily to remove.
Use butyl tape around exterior holes whenever possible to keep holes from leaking.
Make sure to mark your studs before you put the walls on so you know where to secure the interior unit.
