Meet Titanilla, a holistic beekeeper, bee witch, historian & death doula
I’m Titanilla, but everyone calls me Tita. I am a holistic beekeeper, historian, bee witch, and death doula based in Southwest Scotland.
With 3 seasons of beekeeping experience and a thriving small garden apiary, my journey with the bees blends deep-rooted traditions with a commitment to scientific understanding and ethical practices.
My Journey
My beekeeping adventure began with the guidance of two incredible mentors:
Bob: An 84-year-old Irish beekeeper based in Northern England, who gifted me two of his cherished hives in 2023 after apprenticing with him in 2022. His legacy and wisdom have been instrumental in shaping my approach to beekeeping.
Ariella Daly: Founder of 'Honey Bee Wild' . Ariella is a holistic beekeeper from California, whose 10-month online “Women Beekeeping Apprenticeship” I completed in 2023. Her teachings have expanded my understanding and deepened my connection with the bees.
At Beewitching Embassy, I blend holistic and science-based beekeeping practices. I focus on ethical animal husbandry, which involves caring for the bees with respect, minimising stress, and allowing them to express their natural behaviours. Unlike conventional beekeeping methods that often involve practices like drone culling, aggressive swarm management, and frequent requeening, I prioritise the well-being of the bees and the environment.
My approach integrates scientific research with a profound respect for nature. Each month, I delve into studies on honey bees, examining the impacts of conventional practices and environmental changes. This science-based perspective informs my practices and helps bridge the gap between conventional methods and ethical beekeeping.
Follow me on social media for daily updates, insights, and a closer look at life with the bees! You can find me on Instagram, TikTok, and Threads, where I share the latest from the apiary, my personal reflections, and the sacred hum of the bees.

I’m also honoured to offer online guided death meditations with the bees, a practice that embraces the cycles of life and death in a sacred space. If you're curious about the deeper connection between bees and deathwork, I invite you to join this unique experience.
