Beer has been made with wine grapes as far back as the 1970s, when legendary Belgian lambic producer Cantillon used Muscat grapes to make Vigneronne. That tradition continues as American craft breweries embrace wine grapes to give their beers new dimensions of flavor.

This combination of grapes and wine yeast gives the finished beer a strong vinous character. A portion of every Victor bottle sold goes to supporting the St. Lawrence Arts Center, a Portland, Maine, arts venue.

Small menu but great drinks and atmosphere. Good for large or small groups and nicely decorated for the holidays. We stayed on the beer train that night and didn't get to experience their wine but I will definitely be back to try some of the wine offered! The beer list was limited but would apply to any beer drinker whether they like hoppy or light beer.

We absolutely loved our first experience at Alchemy last night. After searching for a spot for dinner, we found Alchemy and decided to give it a try. I think I have found my new favorite wine. I ordered the Pinot Nero and it was the perfect red wine for a summer night. It was light but not sweet, I am obsessed! I also Love the environment here. It's open and welcoming and they have a great patio with a fireplace for cooler evenings. Would definitely recommend to come here for a drink or to host a party.

Great place to go and relax after a long week of work with one of my friends. We tried a new fruity beer and a side of gummy bears (fun treat) while we sat outside next to a fire. Had lots of laughs and would definitely go back to try more variety of beers or wines.

I went here for the first time last week and it exceeded my expectations. Great place to meet your friends out for a drink and enjoy some small plates. You can order cheese and meats a la carte. I recommend doing this so you can pick exactly what you want.

And while local liquor store owners insist they will see their profits cut substantially if the bill is approved, at least one study suggests otherwise. A February 2021 study out of Colorado State University found that foot traffic in liquor stores in Colorado and Kansas dropped just 5% after those states started letting craft brewers sell their beers in grocery stores.

Connecticut shoppers can already pick up a six-pack while in the grocery; a proposal this year to add wine to grocery stores was declared dead Tuesday after failing to advance out of committee in time, according to various news outlets.

Alaska, Delaware, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania are the only other states where liquor stores were the only retailers allowed to sell alcohol as of 2021, according to data from the Beverage Information Group shared with Rhode Island Current.
