My WPI Education
My WPI Courses
It was extremely interesting to be a student in high level math courses and teach the basics of that same high level math simultaneously. It helped me make connections as a teacher and a student. Additionally, taking courses involving the applications of mathematics helped me give students examples of math in the real world.
Math Courses

Pedagogy Courses
Psychology of Education
Teaching Methods in Math and Science
Sheltered English Immersion
To prepare for my student teaching, I took three courses relevant to pedagogy: Psychology of Education, Teaching Methods in Math and Science, and Sheltered English Immersion. Each of these classes provided a unique look into the different aspects of education. In Psychology of Education, we focused on how different parts of the psyche are affected by external and internal factors, and how this especially affects the teenage brain. In Teaching Methods in Math and Science, we had the opportunity to talk specifically about teaching in our subjects and learned from teachers themselves. This class gave me the opportunity to actually design and present an activity for my students to do. In Sheltered English Immersion, I was able to refine the activity and lesson plans from Methods to make it more accessible to English Language Learners.
