Mindful Activities

Using your senses:

  • Go outside and set a timer for 5 minutes. Write down each sound that you hear as you notice it. Remember to take deep breaths.
  • Go outside and pick scenery to watch such as the sky, a tree, or a garden. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Write down as many details about the scenery as you notice. Remember to take deep breaths.
  • Go for a mindful walk. Use your 5 senses to observe while you walk. Allow your mind to empty of all stress and worry.

Spreading Kindness:

  • Ask a caregiver if you can help with something.
  • Do a chore without being asked.
  • Tell a sibling or caregiver that you are grateful for them and why.
  • Write a letter to the elderly and mail it to an assisted living home.
  • Take your pet for a walk.

Mindful Empathy:

  • Write down 5 things you cherish about a person of your choice.
  • Write down 5 reasons you are grateful for a person of your choice.
  • Observe a sibling or caregiver at home. Ask yourself how they might be feeling. Imagine a time you felt that emotion. Go ask the person how they are feeling. Imagine a time that you felt the same emotion.
