BeeGees Team Etiquette
Respect the Water: Show kindness and respect to all team members at all times.
Safety First: All entries are feet-first only. Diving is restricted to designated times in the deep end.
Punctuality: Arrive early enough to warm up properly. If you arrive late, wait for a gap or a stopped lane before entering.
The First Set: Do not start the main set until the entire lane has completed their warm-up.
Circle Swim: Always stay to the right of the lane.
Consistency: Adhere to the distance, stroke, and intervals agreed upon by your lane-mates. Swimmers should move to a faster or slower lane as pace dictates.
Spaced Entry: Allow at least 5 seconds between swimmers (10-15 seconds is preferred for more space).
Off the Wall: Always start each swim directly from the wall. Ensure every swimmer in the lane is ready before beginning a new set.
Clear the Center: Keep the center of the lane wall clear for turns. Wait at the far corners (left or right) to stay out of the way of incoming swimmers.
The Finish: Always finish to the wall. After finishing, immediately move to the center to allow the next swimmer to touch the wall on the right.
The Signal: To pass, gently tap the feet of the swimmer in front of you.
The Pass: All passing occurs on the left interior.
The Yield: If your feet are tapped, pull over at the next wall to the far right, yield to the passing swimmer, and resume when clear.
Work hard, have a great workout, and have fun!Β
