The School of Economics and Business of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and the Javeriana Behavioral and Experimental Lab (JaBElab) are pleased to invite submissions for the 2027 Bogotá Experimental Economics Conference, taking place on January 14–15, 2027. This continues a tradition established through five editions in Antigua, Guatemala, later hosted in Bogotá by the Universidad del Rosario and now by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
This event aims to strengthen ties within the Latin American experimental economics community and foster connections worldwide. It features a single-track program, and our social events are designed to be fun and to encourage interaction among participants.
We are excited to host this edition and look forward to seeing you in Bogotá!

Gautam Rao
Gautam Rao
Gautam Rao is an Associate Professor at the Haas School of Business and the Department of Economics at UC Berkeley. He conducts research bringing insights from psychology to bear on economics, focusing particularly on topics relevant to developing countries. His work covers topics such as the economics of mental health, the economic consequences of sleep, the endowment effect in credit markets, and how diversity in schools affects social preferences and behaviors.
His research has been published in leading journals including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, and Science. He helps run the Behavioral Development Lab in India and is a faculty affiliate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
Danila Serra
Danila Serra
Danila Serra is a Professor of Economics and the holder of the Claudius M. Easley, Jr. Faculty Fellowship in Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University, with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the Bush School of Government and Public Service. She is an applied behavioral economist who employs experimental methods to address broad economic questions. Her work focuses particularly on topics within development, education, labor, and gender economics.
Her research has been funded by major institutions including the World Bank, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Russell Sage Foundation, and she was the inaugural recipient of the Vernon L. Smith Ascending Scholar Prize. She is a Faculty Affiliate at J-PAL, a Research Fellow at IZA, an Affiliated Researcher at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO), and a research member of EGAP.
