The BEE Initiative is focused on expanding education access at home and abroad. In partnership with Helping Hands Cambodia, Gambia Rising, and the GETs Sunrise Centre, we work to raise funds and collect school supplies for students in need from Africa to South America. BEE Initiative is founded by students at Phillips Academy Andover.

The Gambia is a small country in west Africa, among the world's poorest and with few natural resources except its people. Most are subsistence farmers, although the cities and towns are growing. The country has an extensive public school system, and classes are taught in English (there are five primary native languages spoken in the country). Although the quality of teaching has much room for improvement, education is the key to opportunity.
Reducing the likelihood of poverty by enhancing the life chances of Gambian children through education; whether it be through individual or collective sponsorship, supporting teacher training or the provision of first class educational accommodation and resources at low cost to families.
