Each square should be 15 cm x 15 cm. This is equivalent to 5.9 inches x 5.9 inches. This is important because the distance the Bee Bot moves for forward and backward commands is 15 cm. This is why the size of the square is so important.Â
If the squares are too small, the Bee Bot will move into the next square throwing off its placement.
If the squares are too big, the Bee Bot won't make it into the squares fully, thus shorting the distance and throwing off its placement.
This image can be posterized to 24" x 36 " to make the perfectly sized mat for the bee-bots.
You must set the margins for 0 or as small as you can. Only print one blank grid and check it with a Bee-bot to see if the dimensions convert properly. This will minimize wasting paper and ink.
Open the template below in Kami
Click the Print button and select Original.
Wait for the printer window to open.
Select YOUR poster printer from the printer options.
Click More Settings and select the page that is formatted for 24" x 36". On my printer, it is the D4 page.
Finally, go to Scale and select "Fit to printable area". You might need to play with margins as well to get them as small as possible. Choose zero for margins if possible.
When the preview shows the grid full size, click print and see if it worked.
All printers are different, so you will have to play with yours to see what needs to be done.
