Our department at Balıkesir University is still in the process of development. As a result, I currently teach a wide range of courses, including many outside my core research areas. While this can be demanding in terms of time management, it also helps me maintain a broad and integrative perspective on psychology.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a sense of equality in the classroom and encouraging students to ask questions freely. Although it is difficult to fully evaluate my effectiveness in this regard, I am generally satisfied with the outcomes so far.
Some courses naturally require more memorization, such as History of Psychology, while others tend to be more interactive, particularly those related to Social Psychology. In several of my classes, I also integrate films, TV series, and documentaries into the syllabus to support student engagement. Some students report watching them just before the exam, which I still consider worthwhile.
Below is a list of the courses I have taught (so far):
Experimental Social Psychology
Psychology of Emotions
Applied Social Psychology
Environmental Psychology
