The BDTC is seeking new members that share our ideals and want to become involved in promoting Democratic and progressive causes.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The BDTC gets involved in supporting the election of Democrats and promotion of progressive causes via visibilities, phone and text banking, and providing advice. We meet roughly every two months to hear from elected officials, candidates for office, progressive groups, and to have forums on topics of interest. Some recent topics of meetings have been political messaging, climate change, local journalism, education, and diversity. During the past few years, our meetings have been held on Zoom. We also have a presence at Bedford Day, elect delegates to annual state Democratic conventions, and have social events once or twice a year. We are part of a global Bedford Democratic Alliance, with Democratic and progressive parties in the US and around the world that are also named "Bedford". This has been a great way to learn about what is going on in other Bedfords, and how to help Democrats throughout the nation.
