I have only recently discovered my love of photography after a lifetime of enjoying the outdoors. As a geologist, I love to look at the landscape in front of me and piece together the story of its geologic past and capture part of that story in the photograph. Each landscape tells a detailed and unique story; from the rocks that make it up down to the forces that act upon them to create the landscape captured behind the lens. This geologic story reminds me to stop once in a while and consider the world around me and the time scales that our Earth works in, which makes the stresses in my life feel a little less overwhelming.
