Career Goal Narrative
Career Goal Essay
The career I've decided to pursue is to go to college, then become an engineer for the Navy. Ever since I was little, I wanted to be just like my parents and go into the military. I’ve spent a long time wondering whether I should go into the army like my mom or the navy like my dad, and I decided on the navy because it has more things I like. I still don’t know fully what type of engineer I would like to be, but I'm leaning towards aerospace engineering or environmental engineering.
So far, I really haven't taken classes to help me become an engineer, but I took all advanced classes in my freshman year and plan to do so throughout high school. For my sophomore year, I got into engineering at the tech center. Some things I have done to help me with the ASVAB are Boy Scouts, Auto-Repair, and working in my mom's shop.
I do a lot of extracurricular activities, and all of them have taught me a lot of things like teamwork, leadership, quick thinking, and how important a goal is. Some of the activities I do are lacrosse, rugby, Boy Scouts, class president, and theater. For my job, I work for my mom's game shop called Sowrds and Spoons, and some things I learned from working with people are that I need to be patient and I'm going to have to get things done no matter what.
After I get into the military and get my money straight, I want to do everything in my power to improve my community, whether that's helping the hungry or building bird houses. I want to help as many people and animals as I can in my life, and I want to fight for everyone.
