Club Expectations of Parents and Swimmers
Teamwork amongst the coaches, club members and their families is essential to develop and maintain a successful swim club. Working collaboratively to provide a positive experience for everyone involved. Swimmers and parents, who choose to disregard the following expectations, may be denied entry to the program the following year.
Parent’s Role and Code of Conduct
Parents are an essential part of the Beaverlodge Barracudas Swim Club. You are asked to participate actively in the Club. We could not operate a club like this without the dedication of our parents. In addition to adhering to the Swim Alberta Code of Conduct and Ethics, it is your responsibility:
to let the Coach coach.
Our coaches are up to date in the latest techniques and theories, and have all the swimmer’s best interests at heart. Our coaches need to focus their attention solely on their swimmers during the practices. Please email beaverlodgebarracudas@gmail.com should you have any concerns or questions.to recognize you have ONE, the Coach has MANY.
While you are focused on your child, the coach is responsible for the entire program. Coaches care about each and every swimmer and they must do what is best for the entire program.to promote the Beaverlodge Barracudas swim club.
Say nothing but good things about our team, Region and the ASSA, this includes all staff, officials, volunteers, parents and swimmers. Should you have any concerns, you will communicate with the club president or appropriate executive member, in a respectful and productive manner. Personal attacks and abuse will not be tolerated.to stay off the pool deck.
Parents are asked to stay off the pool deck while their child is swimming. Please watch your child(ren) from the bleachers only.
Swimmers’ Role and Code of Conduct
In addition to adhering to the Swim Alberta Code of Conduct and Ethics, swimmers shall:
Obey all the rules and regulations of the club, ASSA and the facilities used both at practice and competitions.
Respect all coaches, officials, volunteers and facility staff at practices and meets.
Participate in practices, swim meets and club approved activities.
Listen to the coach’s directions, instruction and feedback.
Represent the Beaverlodge Barracudas Swim Club in an honourable and respectful manner when attending meets and practices. This includes no foul language, fighting, horseplay, snapping towels, destruction of property and equipment, littering and bullying of any manner.
Respect any and all patrons of the facilities used, including change rooms and shower.
Clean up the area that you were sitting in at swim meets before going home.
