Beauty salons offer a wide range of beauty treatments, from temporary hair removal to massages and learning at a good beauty school how to provide them is very rewarding. There are many services that you can provide at a beauty salon - and sometimes people visit establishments just to relax whilst a professional gets to work on the areas that they simply can’t be bothered to treat at home.
What you will learn about by studying medical aesthetics.
Eyelash and eyebrow tinting treatments are quite basic, but also effective. Usually, a 3% mixture of hydrogen peroxide is combined with a vegetable based dye and this is applied to your eyelashes or eyebrows.
The solution will only be on your eyebrows for a few minutes (and 10 minutes for eyelashes). The tint that it gives is permanent, but will grow out. To keep it, it's recommended that you have it re-done every 4 weeks.
In general, Swedish massages are the kind of massages that you can receive from most beauty salons, but there are also other techniques that may be offered in some facilities. Massages that incorporate things like aromatherapy (which uses essential oils), or hot stones may be available.
Also, other massage techniques such as Thai and Shiatsu have increased in popularity in recent years, too.
Micropigmentation uses a technique which is quite similar to tattooing. With both tattooing and micropigmentation, ink is inserted into the skin using a needle.
But, there is a difference. With micropigmentation the ink won't last forever and will fade over time. Usually, the lips, eyebrows and eyeliner are the most common places for it to be used.
There are a whole host of different body treatments that can be offered at beauty salons, too.
Some common ones are fake tanning and body wraps. Body wraps detoxify, moisturise and relax the body and during a body wrap, you will be wrapped up in plastic, followed by a heat-retaining blanket. Then, it's likely that you'll be able to get a facial or a scalp massage whilst you're enjoying your treatment.
Many also offer body exfoliation, which will remove any dead skin cells. Often, a body exfoliation is recommended to be used before a body wrap, as it will increase the effectively of the wrap’s products to penetrate your skin.

These are some of the most common treatments, but there are also many more that beauty salons can offer. Since some may offer different treatments from others, it can be a good idea to do some research, go to a few different facilities and see which treatments you may prefer.
