Tiny Bunny Crochet is a small crochet business set up by a friend of mine who likes crocheting small and cute keychains. While she does already have a website for it, I wanted to improve upon it and thus started from scratch.
The application prototype can be found here and the report for the project can be found here.
I first took note of all the sections her website had so that I knew what sections I had to include in the application
Then I came up with a general outline of each section and how each section was connected to each other
Then I did a low fidelity prototype, adjusting the layout of all the application's features
Once that was settled, I moved onto medium fidelity prototypes where details were implemented such as buttons, text and icons
After each iteration, I would conduct user testing, taking note of the feedback and filter them. The feedback that was implemented were those I deemed vital or are repeated across the users surveyed
Once user testing had been conducted at least three times, I moved onto the high fidelity prototype, adding in colour and tidying up the entire prototype
Because this application is a shop for cute crochet toys, the design had to evoke a cutesy and friendly design. Thus the buttons have rounded corners and icons are minimalistic, giving off a friendly and simple vibe.
Header text is also larger than body text, and is also underlined to further differentiate it from body text.
Buttons and icons do not have borders to make them less clunky and allow them to fit seamlessly into the background. However, the quantity and search bars have a thin border to highlight it and set it apart from the rest of the background.
All pictures are circular while sections are rectangular/square, giving the application consistency.
The colour palette of the application is pastel and mostly light colours to bring across a vibrant feeling.
Each section is colour coded for easy navigation, and the products are colour coded according to which section they belong to. This gives consistency and allows users to easily backtrack to re-find the crochet toy.
