During my time interning at MOE, I worked on a number of projects, not limited to competitor analysis, interviews, user journey maps and user flow maps.
For competitor analysis, I compared SLS with other edtech tools in the market and highlighted where SLS excelled and where it fell short. The comparison table can be found here.
During interviews, I would scribe and note down important points that were mentioned by the interviewee, doing my best to ensure I wrote them down word for word. Then I would listen to the audio recording of the interview to cross check what I wrote, before using the information to craft a user flow diagram to visualise how the interviewed teacher used SLS. The user flow diagrams were then consolidated into one to create the average teacher's journey in using SLS.
Pain points and pleasure points gleaned from the interviews were put together in a user journey map, along with suggestions that were raised by the teachers. All this was then handed over to another team to implement.
I also created a user flow diagram to capture how I use SLS, to give the team an outsider's point of view. I gave suggestions as to how issues I encountered could be resolved, referencing how other websites in the market tackled the problem. The miro board containing the diagram can be found here.
Since I am a game design student, I offered to look at gamification in SLS to see how it could be improved as its usage rate was low. Then I documented my feedback on the system and how it could be improved. Screenshots of the document can be found here as the original document is confidential.
