BeatAI is a game. You disguise yourself, and a face recognition model tries to recognise you anyway. Because the game runs on your face, this policy explains exactly what happens to your photos.
The short version: your photos ARE sent to Amazon Rekognition to be compared, because that comparison is the game. They are NOT stored — not by us, not by Amazon, not anywhere. Nothing is sent until you have been shown who receives it and have agreed, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

YOUR CONSENT COMES FIRST
Before BeatAI sends any photo of your face anywhere, it shows you a screen called "Face Analysis & Privacy". That screen names what is sent, who receives it, why, and what happens to it afterwards, and asks you to choose.
Choose "Agree & Continue" and the game works as described below.
Choose "Not Now" and no photo is sent at all. You keep the app; rounds simply cannot be scored.
You can change your mind in either direction at any time: Profile -> Privacy -> Cloud face analysis. Turning it off stops all further transmission immediately.

WHAT THE APP COLLECTS
Your reference photo
When you first open BeatAI you take one clear photo of your face. Every round is scored against it.
This photo is stored only in the app's private folder on your device. We never receive a copy and we have no server that could hold one. It is sent to Amazon Rekognition once, when you take it, to check that it shows one clear face — see WHERE YOUR PHOTOS GO. Deleting the app deletes it. You can also delete it at any time inside the app.
Your round photos
Each time you play a round, the app takes one photo.
That photo is sent to Amazon Rekognition to be compared with your reference photo, and is not stored anywhere — not by us, not by Amazon, and not in any cloud storage. The comparison happens, the score comes back, and the image is discarded. There is no copy to delete because no copy is kept.
Your progress
Your level, XP, coins, wins, losses and daily attempts are stored on your device only. There is no account, no login, and no profile of you anywhere.
WHERE YOUR PHOTOS GO
To decide whether the AI recognised you, BeatAI sends your reference photo and your round photo to Amazon Rekognition, a face analysis service operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS), for processing in the US East (Ohio) region in the United States.
Two things happen there:
1. DetectFaces checks the photo contains one clear, visible face, so the round is a fair attempt.
2. CompareFaces returns a single number: how similar the two photos are.
We do not store the images with AWS. They are sent inside the request itself rather than uploaded to any bucket. BeatAI uses Rekognition's non-storage operations, which means the input image bytes are not retained by Rekognition once the request has been processed. We receive only the resulting score.
How the data is collected
The photos are captured by the device camera inside the app, at moments you choose: once when you take your reference photo, and once per round when you press the shutter. The app has no access to your photo library and takes no picture outside those two moments.
The third party's protection
AWS provides the same or equal protection for this data as we do. AWS processes it solely as our processor, on our instructions, and only to return the similarity score — it may not use it for its own purposes. Amazon Rekognition's non-storage operations do not retain the input image bytes after the request is processed, so there is no copy at AWS to protect after the call ends. These obligations are set out in the AWS Privacy Notice (https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/), the AWS Service Terms (https://aws.amazon.com/service-terms/) and the AWS Data Processing Addendum (https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/gdpr-center/), and data is transmitted to AWS over an encrypted connection.
AWS is the only third party that receives your photos. They are shared with no one else, for any purpose.
If you are outside the United States, note that this means your photo is processed in the United States for the seconds it takes to analyse it.
BIOMETRIC DATA
Analysing a face is biometric processing, so we want to be precise about it:
We do not create, store, or maintain a faceprint, face template, or biometric identifier of you.
We do not use your face to identify you across sessions, link you to any other person, or build a profile.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your photos or any biometric data with anyone, for any purpose.
The comparison is strictly between your two photos, and its only output is a similarity percentage used to score a game round.
Legal basis (GDPR): where GDPR applies, we rely on your explicit consent, given on the "Face Analysis & Privacy" screen before anything is sent. You can withdraw it at any time from Profile -> Privacy -> Cloud face analysis, or by deleting your photo, or by deleting the app. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it and takes effect immediately.
ANONYMOUS IDENTIFIER
To reach the analysis service, the app requests temporary, anonymous credentials from Amazon Cognito. This creates a random identifier for your installation.
It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or anything else about you, and it does not follow you to other apps.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
If you subscribe to BeatAI Premium, the purchase is handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, which verifies with Apple that your subscription is valid.
We receive only whether your subscription is active. We never receive your payment details — Apple does not share them with us.
RevenueCat's handling is described in their Privacy Policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy).
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
No name, email address, phone number, or postal address
No account or password
No contacts, location, microphone, or photo library access
No advertising identifiers, and no advertising
No third-party analytics or tracking
The app requests one permission: the camera. It is used only to take the photos described above, and only while you are on a camera screen.
DELETING YOUR DATA
Everything BeatAI holds about you is on your own device, so you control it completely:
Stop sending photos: Profile -> Privacy -> "Cloud face analysis" -> off
Delete your reference photo: Profile, then "Delete my photo and progress"
Delete everything: the same button clears your photo and all progress
Delete the app: removes all of it at once
There is nothing to request from us and no waiting period, because there is no copy on our side to delete.
CHILDREN
BeatAI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Because the game requires a photo of a face, we ask that children use it only with a parent or guardian's involvement.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing.
Because we hold no personal data on any server, access and deletion are already in your hands through the app. If you still want to exercise a right or ask a question, email masallamasalladigital101@gmail.com and we will respond.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
