What are Sunshine State Young Reader's Award books?
The Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Program is a statewide reading motivation program for students in grades 3 through 8 promoted by the Florida Association of Media in Education (FAME). The purpose of the SSYRA Program is to encourage students to read independently for pleasure and to read books that are on, above, and below their reading level in order to improve their reading fluency.

This is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Students that READ AT LEAST 3-5 of the Grades 3-5 books (DEPENDING ON YOUR GRADE LEVEL) and pass their AR quiz – the 1st time with these books – earn a pizza and prize party at the end of the year in MEDIA with MRS. LASTINGER!
