Dubai is known for its opulent hotels, gleaming skyscrapers, and, of course, its immaculate beaches. It is considered to be the pearl of the United Arab Emirates. Most of the beaches in Dubai are close to the main city but some of them are secluded in the man-made islands off the coast of Dubai.

This is also one of the only beaches that offer surfing and allow night swimming up until midnight with Smart Power Lights for safety. The Wild Wadi Waterpark is located close to this beach and your kids will love a visit to it!

While there are no public beaches in Palm Jumeirah, a great way to relax by the beach is to visit the WHITE Beach Club there. WHITE Beach Club has its own private beach and is located on the tip of the Palm Jumeirah artificial island.

Dubai is home to miles and miles of snowy-white, fine-sand beaches. These lie on the warm, aqua-blue Persian Gulf (known locally as the Arabic Gulf), turning the area into a true beach resort destination.

Although many beaches in Dubai are private and associated with luxury residential communities or resort hotels, a large number are public beaches. Most beaches in Dubai are man-made, so they're flat and wide, with soft white sand. Many are cleaned and groomed with machines each day and some have special days designated for ladies and children only.

Most beaches in Dubai have basic services: bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers, and most of the official beach parks also have lifeguards. Some beaches even offer free public Wi-Fi hot spots, some with solar-powered device charging stations.

There is no real surf or current, and the shallow area, about four feet deep, extends out far from the sand, perfect for wading and just relaxing in the warm water. JBR Open Beach (like all public beaches in Dubai) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Even though the beach is open all night, swimming is not permitted after sunset.

The sand here is a bit coarser than other beaches, with many shells. For off-beach fun, there's a skate park and many little ice-cream stalls. Sole Mio is a family-friendly beach club located right on Kite Beach. You can rent sun beds, umbrellas, and towels and spend the day on the white sand with a view of the Burj Al Arab. The beach club works with all the local Kite Beach restaurants and offers complimentary beach delivery right to your umbrella.

The Palm Jumeirah is the amazing palm-frond-shaped artificial archipelago development that projects out into the Persian Gulf. While there are some public areas of the rocky perimeter shoreline, there are no public beaches on The Palm.

All the beaches are either part of the luxury residential neighborhoods or apartment buildings on some of the "fronds," or associated with a luxury hotel. WHITE Beach, an upscale beach club at the Atlantis resort, is open to the public.

Jebel Ali is about 30 minutes south of downtown Dubai and the emirate's newest recreational development area. Already known as an industrial zone with the world's largest man-made harbor, the area is home to many long, sandy, free public beaches where you can find yourself virtually alone.

The beach is wide with a gentle curve and gentle slope into the water. As an unprotected beach, Mercato can see some waves and undertows, so swimmers should be extra careful here. There are lifeguards on duty. The beach is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but like all beaches in Dubai, swimming in the water after sunset is against the law.

When it's cold in Europe and other areas of the world, it's a good time to head to the beaches in Dubai. During the summer months, from June through September, the extreme heat means you'll probably want to visit in the very early morning or even the early evening.

Q1: I was wondering how to keep my valuables safe while visiting the beaches? (stuff like phone, credit card, keys, some cash etc. aka things that I can't leave in the hotel and need them while I'm out there.)

Chef Tom Arnel's waterside spot on the shores of Palm Jumeirah takes inspiration from Australian beaches, with a surf-style aesthetic and menu that you can happily graze on all day. Bright, airy interiors complement views of the Arabian Sea, with an easy local neighbourhood vibe that ensures visitors become regulars. Snack on small plates or feast on a selection of mains, with an emphasis on coastal flavours putting the spotlight on seafood and seasonal ingredients.

Al Mamzar Beach features five pristine beaches for sunbathing or swimming. Before reaching the soft white sand, you'll cross a large section of manicured lawn, with winding foot and bike paths sided by swaying palm trees. Spread over 106 hectares, Al Mamzar includes three stunning pools where families can cool off instead of getting sandy on the shore. For a small fee per person, this expansive park and beach, with lush barbecue areas, landscaped playgrounds, lagoons and a sheltered beach, are perfect for a day out.

Microplastic contamination in beach sediments along coast of Dubai is un-documented. In this study, microplastic contamination in beach sediments collected from the wrack lines of 16 beaches in Dubai was evaluated. Five samples were collected from each beach along a 100 m stretch using a 0.5 m by 0.5 m, quadrant. The number, color, and shape of microplastics were documented. The polymer types of large fibers and strings were identified through FT-IR analysis. 480 microplastics from each of the 16 beaches were selected to detect heavy metals using XRF analysis. The results showed that the average weight of microplastic is 0.33 mg per gram of dry sediment (or 953 mgm-2) and the number of microplastic is 59.71 items per kg of dry sediment (or 165 itemsm-2). Blue and fibrous microplastics were dominant. Polyethylene strings and fibers were abundantly found. 13 heavy metals were identified of which five are priority pollutants.

"My life in Dubai would not be the same without Privilee, my weekends revolve around working out at one of Privilee's amazing gyms before heading to brunch or lunch at one of the many incredible pools or beaches."
