Many of you know Mrs. Close as our dedicated high school assistant principal—a leader who goes above and beyond to support students and help them reach their full potential. She invests countless hours ensuring that every student feels valued, encouraged, and equipped for success, both inside and outside the classroom. Her passion for education and her genuine care for the school community are evident in everything she does.
In addition to her role as vice principal, Mrs. Close has generously taken on the responsibility of overseeing the PTSO. Her leadership, insight, and commitment to collaboration bring tremendous value to our organization. She is deeply invested in fostering a positive school environment, strengthening connections between families and staff, and helping create opportunities that enrich the student experience. We are incredibly grateful for her continued guidance, dedication, and the heart she brings to our school community.
Jen is the current President of the PTSO, a role she proudly fulfills after establishing the organization from the ground up for the Bald Eagle Area Middle and High School. As a devoted wife and mother of three sons—one now in college and two still in the district—she is deeply invested in fostering a positive, supportive environment for students, parents, and staff alike. Her leadership reflects both her love for her children and her strong belief in the power of community collaboration.
Residing in Howard, PA, she balances family life, volunteer service, and her career as a fine-art portrait photographer, where she captures timeless, heartfelt images for families in her studio. Grounded in her faith and guided by a calling to serve others, she strives to live out her values daily—whether through encouraging students, supporting teachers, or lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed.
Her commitment to faith, family, and community shines through in everything she does. She believes that service, kindness, and creativity can strengthen relationships and create lasting impact—principles she carries into both her personal and professional life.
Ms. Buda serves as the Teacher Liaison for the BEA PTSO and has been an invaluable supporter since its inception. She helps bridge communication between staff and the PTSO, offering thoughtful insight, encouragement, and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
In addition to her role with the PTSO, Ms. Buda leads the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, helping foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging school environment for students. She is passionate about recognizing student achievements, promoting good character, and creating meaningful experiences that help children feel connected and supported.
Through her dedication to both PBIS and the PTSO, Ms. Buda continually works to strengthen relationships among students, families, and staff. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and servant-hearted approach make her a valued member of our school community, and we are grateful for the many ways she invests in making our school a welcoming place for all.
We’d love your help! As our PTSO continues to grow, we're actively seeking individuals who may be interested in serving in leadership positions for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years. Positions we'd love to fill include:
• Vice President – Assists the President, helps oversee events and committees, and steps in when needed.
• Secretary – Keeps meeting minutes, maintains records, and assists with communications.
• Treasurer – Manages finances, tracks income and expenses, and prepares simple financial reports.
• Fundraising Coordinator – Helps organize fundraising opportunities and community sponsorships.
• Event Chairs & Committee Members – Lead or assist with specific events such as Staff Appreciation Week, Book Fairs, family events, and student activities.
No prior PTSO experience is necessary. Serving alongside our current board members provides an opportunity to learn the role, gain experience, and become comfortable before taking on greater responsibilities in the future. Whether you're interested in helping occasionally or stepping into a leadership position, we'd love to have you involved!
Together, we can make great things happen for our schools—join us and be part of the fun!
