This course is an introduction to the study and analysis of thermodynamics, energy, and entropy, and their interactions relevant to engineering, centered on the first and the second laws of thermodynamics.
ME522: Heat Transfer
Introduction to the three modes of heat transfer in the context of the laws of thermodynamics; the heat equation and its application to steady conduction in one- and two-dimensions as well as to unsteady one-dimensional conduction; the thermal boundary layer, Reynolds Analogy, and the problem of convection; free and forced convection in internal and external flows and etc.
