Terms & Conditions
By making payment, you understand & agree to Be Exquisite Cakes Terms & Conditions outlined below:
Price Promise
The price quoted is for the design discussed. Any changes to the design may increase the price if more complex modelling is involved.
Price matching is not available – our cake prices are based on the high standard of ingredients used & uniquely skilled work.
Payment
No orders are booked & secured into the diary until the payment has been received in full.
However, we will accept deposits for Wedding Cake orders & payment plans can be agreed.
Cancellation
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.
If you have to cancel your order for any reason you will be liable to pay for any special order items & for any work that has been started.
If a wedding cake order is cancelled within 3 months of the wedding date it is unlikely that the cancelled space will be filled and therefore the following cancellation charges will apply:
1 month or less – 100% of Full Cake Cost
2 months or less – 60% of Full Cake Cost
More than 2 months – Loss of deposit
All cancellations MUST be in writing.
Allergies
Please note all our all our cakes contain gluten, egg & milk & may contain traces of nut &/or soya. They are suitable for Vegetarians. It is your responsibility to inform guests that traces of nuts COULD be present in the cake. Any specific dietary requirements should be discussed at the consultation.
Design
Once you are happy with the design, a copy of the order form will be sent to you. It is your responsibility to read & check through this thoroughly as this will be used to design your cake.
Any changes to the design/theme of your cake once booked in would need to be made at least three weeks before the collection date. Please note changes to design may incur an additional charge especially if more complex modelling is required.
We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control, may compromise the quality of the finished cake, e.g. Melting due to weather. Should this occur, we will contact you to discuss the best way forward.
Delivery / Collection
Delivery is charged on a mileage & time basis. If delivery is chosen, it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition, prior to your event. However, we cannot be held liable for any delays, such as traffic conditions, that are out of our control. In the event of late delivery, the maximum compensation will be a refund on the delivery price.
Late requests for delivery (after securing the booking based on collection) will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed, as earlier delivery commitments must take priority.
If you are collecting your cake order, the cake must be collected at the agreed date and time. This time is flexible upon discussion, however, no changes can be made 24 hours prior to collection except for extraordinary circumstances. Any changes after this notice period must be arranged verbally.
When you collect your cake, it will need to be transported in a cool car either in the boot or front passenger seat footwell if it is a single tier cake. We do not recommend transporting your cake on the seat of your car. It is recommended that you put a clean towel under the cake to avoid sliding & that other large objects are not nearby in the car. Care should be taken when driving with a cake in the car, sudden braking or sharp turns may damage your cake.
Once the cake has been delivered/collected, Be Exquisite Cakes accepts no responsibility for any damage to the cake or decorations resulting from incorrect transportation, storage or from any accident that occurs to the cake once it leaves our possession.
If any damage is rendered to the cake after it has left our possession, then you can advise us & request a repair, which will be costed accordingly, including transport costs if appropriate.
A signed delivery note by the client/client’s representative to say that the cake has arrived/been collected in perfect condition will be required along with a photograph to prove condition of the cake.
Storage
Once home/at the venue, the cake is best stored in a dry, cool dark place away from children/pets but not in a refrigerator. Please do not leave your cake in a car for extended periods, in sunlight or by a radiator.
Your cake is made to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event & should be stored in the cake box provided.
Non-Edible Items
Most cakes include & contain small inedible items. These items include, but are not limited to, support dowels, ribbons, diamante mesh bands, wires, flower picks & flower tape.
It is your responsibility to remove these prior to cutting & serving your cake. You are responsible for ensuring that caterers/venues are aware of this fact. You will be notified of each inedible items on your cake on delivery/collection.
Refunds
Refunds are given only in exceptional circumstances as deemed appropriate by Be Exquisite Cakes.
Photography
We reserve the right to photograph our cakes & use such photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you. This shall include, but not be limited to, sharing such photographs through various Social Media Outlets. Any images that are watermarked with our logo are the intellectual property of Be Exquisite Cakes & cannot be used or displayed by another person in any medium without our permission.
We are happy for you to post pictures of your cake with its recipients on our Facebook page & would love you to leave a review/star rating on our Facebook page & Google review. This is a great way to let other customers know that you have been pleased with your cake and our service.
