The mission of the NYIT-BDSC is to establish a fertile and collaborative research and educational environment that encourages the exchange of ideas between interested New York Tech faculty and students from diverse departments. In addition, the NYIT-BDSC will be committed to exposing undergraduate, graduate, and medical students to research in this exciting new field in order to train and grant degrees to the next generation of biomedical data scientists.
On behalf of an interdisciplinary committee, consisting of twelve faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering and College of Osteopathic Medicine, the NYIT Biomedical Data Science Center (NYIT-BDSC) aims to promote interdisciplinary research and education in the fields of biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, and medicine. More specifically, our center aims to:
To foster interdisciplinary collaboration and support across New York Tech Departments/Colleges
To train student and provide (internal) financial support
To obtain (external) interdisciplinary grants for research and training
To recruit faculty and students
To provide scientific outreach
