The Homework Assignment slip is a notification that is sent home with a student at the end of the day indicating incomplete goals to be finished at home. The slip must be signed by a parent and returned the next school day. This item includes a pad of 50 Homework Assignment slips.

All requests to be added to the Mooring Permit waiting or Slip Lease waiting list must be made by letter, which can be mailed or hand delivered to the Town Hall. Requests for slips must reference a specific harbor location (please see descriptions in Section VI of the Rules and Regulations. Every student is given a "bank account" of 4 slip days that can be spent over the semester. Thus, if your current balance is three slip days and you turn in (any part of) A5 two days after it was due, then your new balance is one slip day. It makes sense not to exercise this option until later in the semester when your schedule is more crowded.

Slip days are counted on the 24-hour marks: if an assignment is due 6pm on the 1st,then assignments submitted between 6:01pm on the 1st and 6:00pm on the 2nd will be charged one slip day; assignments submitted between 6:01pm on the 2nd and 6pm on the 3rd will be charged two slip days.Given the constraint above, assignments would not be accepted after 6:01pm on the 3rd.

Once you use up your slip days, any part of an assignment that is submitted after the normal deadline will not be graded for credit: the slip-days mechanism is the entirety of our late-submissions policy. Beyond the slip days and drops outlined above, extensions on assignments will be granted only with an academic accommodation letter from the Office of Accessible Education (generally for medical reasons). or in other such exceptional circumstances. Requests due to job interviews, other classes and assignments, and poor planning will not be considered. We suggest you save your slip days to insure against catastrophe.

Assignment submission, evaluation, and return is a paperless process. Students willsubmit their assignments using MarkUs. Parts of the assignment will begraded by computer; parts will be marked by humans. When all assignments have been markedthey will be available for viewing within MarkUs.

Submissions within the 24 hours following the main assignmentdue date causes a slip day to be consumed; they are not prorated. Similarly,submissions in the following 24 hours causes a second slip day to be consumed.

Slip days will not be consumed unless explicitly authorized by submitting use1SlipDay.rktor use2SlipDays.rkt. If required, the marking system will request submission ofthese files in the basic tests. Simply submit the requested file if you want touse the slip day.

It is your responsibility to check the basic tests, especially on your last submission, tomake sure everything went right. We will not be sympathetic to issues that could have beendetected by you by simply reading the basic tests and re-submitting (even if that resubmissioncosts you a slip day).

The Waterfront Department has had a slip assignment policy in place since 1975 and a slip transfer fee since 1982. The details of the slip assignment process are codified under Santa Barbara Municipal Code 17.20.005.

The imposition of a slip permit transfer fee, according to a staff report, arose from two observations: the allowance of slip permit transfers limits the availability and prevents equal access to the general public; and, slip transfers may result in private financial gain with little or no monetary benefit to the trust-owned property.

Wiltshire said the slip transfer fee was imposed in an effort to dampen demand and retain some of the public value of the public asset within the waterfront as opposed to private parties. Slip permit transfer fee revenues make up roughly 6 to 8 percent of the overall Waterfront operating budget and go towards covering operating expenses and capital expenditures to maintain the harbor.

On May 21, the Harbor Commission approved the Fiscal Year 2021 budget, which included a slip transfer fee increase of $25 per foot for slips ranging from 35 feet to 100 feet. At the July 16 meeting, Wiltshire presented several public concerns raised over current slip transfer fees.

One of the main concerns was that the transfer fee is generally too high. The transfer fee ranges from $200 a foot for slips under 20 feet to $525 a foot for slips between 35 feet and 100 feet. The Waterfront bases the cost of the transfer fee on private market value, with the fee ranging from from 5 to 35 percent of the market value of the slips.

The transfer fee for slips 30 feet and under have been frozen because, according to a staff report, an economic balance has been reached where there is limited ability to privately profit off the transfer of slips. Slip fees for 35 feet and above remain fluid, with a $25 a foot increase in fiscal year 2020 and 2021.

Another concern was expressed over the inability to add children or pass slips on generationally. A spouse can be assigned a slip permit without initiating a transfer but slip permits cannot be transferred/inherited after death of sole slip permittee. 2351a5e196
