2. Error Message

power-off

Solution

Reason:

There is no electric power in ONU.

Solution:

Need to re plug the power adapter

3. Error Message

wire-down

Solution

Reason:

Fiber connectivity is down at ONU

Solution:

Need to re connect the fiber connectivity in ONU

4. Error Message

Illegal License file shows at the time of NMS installation

Solution

Solution:

1. Remove the existing NSM software

2. Reinstall the software to E or D drive but not C drive

5. Error Message

Solution

Solution:

1. Check the TX power of GPON0/1 PON module

2. Change the GPON0/1 PON module

6. Error Message

Solution

Reason:

The OLT always have the logging when the power up

7. Error Message

OAM Operational Status: Operational

Solution

1. Switch#show epon interface epON 0/1:19 onu ctc optical-transceiver-diagnosis (No result will be shown)

2. Switch_config_epon0/1#epon onu-blacklist mac 500b.91e0.d830

3. Switch_config_epon0/1#no epon onu-blacklist mac 500b.91e0.d830

NB: The issue will be resolved if ONU RX power is within -27dB

8. get onu optical transceiver diagnosis failed: rc = -5, onu_rv=0

Solution

get onu optical transceiver diagnosis failed: rc = -5, onu_rv=0

1. Check if it is EPON OLT

2. If it is EPON then change the PON Module

3. Delete the file "tiger.blob"

4. Copy the file "tiger.blob" to OLT by using TFTP

9. omci link down

Solution

omci link down

1. Check splitting ratio. The recommended splitting ration is 1:8 then 1:16 or 1:16 then 1:8. That means, we recommend only 2 steps splitting. However, you may do more if required but the calculation should not be more than 128.

2. Check your ONU RX power by the command "show gpon interface gpON 0/1:1 onu optical-transceiver-diagnosis". Use this command randomly if you can see the ONU RX. If it doesn't show anything then pls send your field engineer/technician with a PON power meter to check the optical power with 1490 nm web length.

3. You may get the optical power more than -27dBm. (for ONU connectivity ONU RX threshold value is -27dBm). Then check your physical link. Cable joint, connector etc.

4. If the RX is okay by measuring PON power meter then connect the ONU again to check. If the issue not resolve, change patch cord and ONU

5. If the issue not resolve, contact BDCOM technical support

10. SFi (Signal Fail of ONTi)

The signal fail of ONTi (SFi) occurs alarm.  System generates this alarm when a GPON port detects that the signals of an ONT fail and that the BER check error code rate in the upstream direction of the ONT reaches the threshold.

Impact on the System:

The data link is interrupted and the data cannot be transmitted in the normal state. The services of the ONT are interrupted.

Possible Causes:

The optical fiber is faulty.

The ONT is abnormal

Procedure 01: Check the optical fiber.

v  If the optical fiber is not connected properly, reconnect the optical fiber again to ensure that the optical fiber is connected correctly and securely.

v  If the optical fiber is aged, bent, or damaged, replace the optical fiber.

v  If the connector of the optical fiber is not clean, clean the optical fiber.

Procedure 02: If the ONT is abnormal, reset or replace the ONT.

The bit error ratio (BER) domain is a domain of eight bits. It is used to calculate the parity check value of a segment of bytes. The receiver calculates a parity check value and compares the calculated value with the received BER value to obtain the number of error codes on the link.
