  • [June. 2024] Dr. Chon obtained two research grants on parallelization of application software based on exascale systems from Korea Institute Science and Technology Information (KISTI).

  • [May. 2024] Two freshman (Ujae Choi and Seongyoon Jeong) joined our lab.

  • [Apr. 2024] A paper "GMiner++: Boosting GPU-based Frequent Itemset Mining by Reducing Redundant Computations" has been accepted to Expert Systems with Applications.

  • [Mar. 2024] One freshman (Eunsol Kim) joined our lab.

  • [Mar. 2024] A paper "Accelerating Erasure Coding by Exploiting Multiple Repair Paths in Distributed Storage Systems" has been accepted to Cluster Computing.

  • [Sep. 2023] A paper "GPUTucker: Large-scale GPU-based Tucker Decomposition using Tensor Partitioning" has been accepted to Expert Systems with Applications.

  • [Sep. 2023] Dr. Chon obtained a research grant on software library for extreme-scale scientific applications from National Research Foundation of Korea.

  • [Apr. 2023] A paper "Active Learning Using Generative Adversarial Networks for Improving Generalization and Avoiding Distractor Points" has been accepted to Expert Systems with Applications.

  • [Mar. 2023] A paper "ConnectomeNet: a Unified Deep Neural Network Modeling Framework for Multi-task Learning" has been accepted to IEEE Access.

  • [Mar. 2023] I joined School of Computer Science and Engineering of Korea University of Technology and Education as an assistant professor.

  • [Feb. 2023] Dr. Kang-Wook Chon (with Prof. Min-Soo Kim and Jihye Lee) presented the paper "A GPU-based tensor decomposition method for large-scale tensors" (Best Paper Award) in IEEE BigComp 2023-02-15, Jeju, Korea.
