Title IX Dedication at River Dell High School
updated: October 2023
On September 30th, River Dell Board of Education and Athletics Department unveiled two additions to their Title IX Plaque. Mary Ann Pieshala and Beverly B. Rosenstein joined Brenda Canal with this honor. Mary Ann, Beverly and Brenda were pioneers of the Bergen County Women Coaches Association and helped to advance female athletics in both Bergen County and the state of NJ. The BCWCA was started in 1972 to help honor female athletes and give them the opportunity to participate in athletics. This organization was led by Mary Ann and Beverly during their tenure as River Dell coaches.
The BCWCA would like to thank River Dell BOE and Denis Nelson for their efforts in memorializing the efforts of these women.
