"Let your plans be as dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt." -- Sun Tzu, "Art of War"
In response to the trend of higher crime rates around the time of the department's formation, Sheriff Winters authorized the creation of a modern strategic division akin to Special Weapons and Tactics. Thus, the Sheriff's Special Response Team was born. Under the command of Captain Koe Miller, It is a National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Tier 1 unit comprised of the most elite law enforcement officers Blaine County has to offer.
MESS WITH THE BEST, FAIL LIKE THE REST:
SRT trains exhaustively to be the best tactical response unit in the state of San Andreas, providing their specialized services to communities and law enforcement agencies throughout the county. Some of their duties include, but are not limited to:
Counter-Terrorism Operations
Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)
Hostage Rescue & Crisis Negotiations
High Risk/Violent Felony Arrests
Searches for Escapees/Wanted Subjects
Extreme Civil Disturbance/Crowd Control
High Risk Dignitary Protection or Escorts
Strategic Airborne Operations
Amphibious/Underwater Recovery & Assault Operations
Applications for the Special Response Team are open to all paygrades, however only those with a great deal of knowledge and experience will be accepted into this group. The competition is extremely fierce. Becoming an SRT Trainee also does not guarantee that the deputy will succeed through the program; only the most fit, dedicated individuals ever make it to becoming a certified operator.
