In 2018, Brooke and CJ began thinking about the feasibility of tiny-home living. The flexibility and freedom of a vehicle conversion was even more attractive to the hearts of two people who loved the outdoors. As the idea became less of a halfhearted discussion and more of a serious plan, the two began saving and designing. Over two years later they finally found a perfect van at the right price in Denver, CO. For the next few months it would be nonstop visits to Home Depot, video after video on YouTube, sore backs, and of course the loving support of our families.
First day with the van, including all the previous owner's shelving.
The final tiny home after months of hard work.
Brooke and CJ met in 2014 during their undergrad in San Diego, California. They both love to travel, snowboard, hike, bike, and video game thus the van was designed to cater for these particular interests. CJ has a BS in Physics from UCSD and is currently pursuing a PhD in Biomechanics at CU Denver. Brooke has a BS in Nano Engineering from UCSD and an MS in Optical Engineering from CU Boulder. With CJ's experience in HVAC, electrical engineering, and SolidWorks, combined with Brooke's skills with design, woodworking, and material science, the two were a perfect pair for this endeavor!
