UME has conducted the Master Gardener (MG) program continuously since 1978. MGs extend the services, programs, and expertise of AGNR to the public. MGs are volunteer educators and representatives of UMD.

Mission: Support University of Maryland Extension by educating residents about safe, effective, and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities.

Whether in the demonstration gardens, at a farmer's market, presenting at the library or otherwise, we are always creating programs with these 6 areas in mind. This includes in our article writing!
