We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, “as it is in truth, the Word of God...” (I Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God's preservation of His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8). The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use from the pulpit. (KJV)
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14).
We believe in the eternal Deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who is one of the three Persons of the Trinity. We believe the Holy Spirit produces His fruit in the lives of all believers.
(Romans 8:28, 29; I Corinthians 1:24; II Thessalonians 2:7; John 3:6; John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; Galatians 5:22, 23; Colossians 1:10, 12)
We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, that he was supernaturally begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and that he is completely God and man at the same time. We believe that the entire life of Jesus Christ was spent free from sin, and defilement. He was not only sinless in nature but also sinless in deed, thought and performance, which qualify him to be the only Savior of all mankind, as no other person has ever or will ever or shall be able to meet this just demand of God for a sinless substitute.
(Matthews 1:20-21; Luke1:35-36; Luke 2:10-11; John 1:14; John 3:16,18; I John 4:9; John 8:46; John 18:38; Matthew 17:5)
We believe in the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ after His death on the cross. The resurrection declares that He is indeed the Son of God, as He is the only One Who has or ever will rise from the dead by His own power. Christ’s ability to rise from the dead by His own power gives us assurance that He will also resurrect those who trust Him for salvation in the resurrection of the just to eternal heaven.
(Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-7; Luke 36-45; John 11:25-26; John 20-21; I Corinthians 15:1-8, 51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15)
We believe that man was created in holiness, under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression, fell from that holy and happy state. The consequence of which; all mankind are now sinners, being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God, positively inclined to evil, and under just condemnation to eternal ruin without defense or excuse.
(Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Genesis 1:26-27; I Corinthians 11:7; Psalm 51:5)
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the Mediatorial offices of the Son of God. Who by the appointment of the Father, freely took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, honored the divine law by His personal obedience and by His death. He made a full atonement for our sins, that having risen from the dead, He is now enthroned in heaven, and uniting in His wonderful person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfection, He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate, and an all-sufficient Savior.
(John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; John 5:24; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30)
We believe that there are only two ordinances given to the church by Scripture. The first being Christian baptism which is the immersion in water of a believer into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost to show forth a beautiful symbol of our death to sin and our resurrection as a new creature in Christ. We believe that it is the first act of obedience of a new believer so that they may make clear their deep intentions to serve God throughout their life. This act traditionally precedes church membership, yet has no bearing on a believers salvation.
