यत्रानेकः क्वचिदपि गृहे तत्र तिष्ठत्यथैको
यत्राप्येकः सततं बहवस्तत्र नैकोऽपि जान्ते ।
इथं नेयो रजनिनिधसो लोालयत्क्वाविवाशो
कालः कल्यो भुवनफलकॆ क्रीडति प्राणिशारैः ॥१४३॥
yatrānekaḥ kvacid api gṛhe tatra tiṣṭ̣haty athaiko
yatrāpi ekas tadanu bahavas tatra cānte na caikaḥ
itthaṃ cemau rajanidivasau dolayan dvāv ivākṣau
kālaḥ kālyā saha bahukalaḥ krīḍati prāṇisāraiḥ
In a common home (or: in any place), where (stands) an individual (a person or a pawn) where many individuals are there (stand)
And at the end only one remains
And so „Time“ is played with the second [as partner] (or: at each second), while („Time") day and night swing like two dice [in the hand] (or: move in rhythm ahead or behind)
With lives like pawns on the game board
