The 'Khosrow, son of Kawād, and a Page' (Ḥusraw ī Kawādān ud Rēdag-ē) was written in Middle Persian (Pahlavi) around 531–579, during the reign of Khosrow I.
The oldest copy dates from 1322: this is the MK manuscript (named in honor of Mihrabān Kayhusraw, its Iranian scribe), which is preserved in Bombay, India.
The page (in Middle Persian: rēdag) Wāspuhr declares to King Khosrow I his mastery of three Sassanid court games.

And at chess, at nēw-ardaxšīr, and at haštpāy, I surpass my adversaries.
