About:  Happy  to share that the BCI4ALL@ISR team won 3rd place in the “BCI PROGRAMMING & ARTS PROJECTS” category at the BR41N.IO Hackathon, held this past weekend (25-26 April) as part of the BCI Spring School 2026, organized by g.tec.

Supported by the BCI4ALL R&D Project, the team from the ISR HCMR lab developed a dynamic P300-based BCI system to select objects and people in a scene and guide a mobile robotic platform, simulating a wheelchair, towards target goals, including person tracking.

Congratulations to Luís Garrote, Aniana Cruz, Gonçalo Barros, Eduardo Borges, Manuel Abreu, Nicoli Leal, Sofia Rosa, and Rute Bettencourt, with the support of João Perdiz!

About: This Special Issue seeks original research articles, reviews, and perspectives addressing sensor-driven and user-centered advances in assistive BCI systems. Particular emphasis is placed on multimodal sensing, hybrid interfaces, wearable and unobtrusive acquisition technologies, adaptive and user-independent decoding methods, context-aware signal fusion, and practical evaluation in realistic or clinical settings. Contributions that help bridge the gap between proof-of-concept laboratory systems and dependable assistive neurotechnology are especially welcome. (ISSN 1424-8220)

The Institute of Systems and Robotics is an official host of the BCI Spring School 2026, with Gabriel Pires as the local contact person. In this context, the BCI4ALL group will promote the participation of teams in the BCI Hackathon and contribute to talks and discussions on BCI-related topics.

O Politécnico de Tomar celebra o Dia Internacional da Pessoa com deficiência, no dia 3 de dezembro, com a ação de sensibilização “Educação para todos”, dinamizada pela Associação Portuguesa de Neuromusculares, que decorrerá pelas 14h, no auditório Doutor José Bayolo Pacheco de Amorim. 

O Projeto BCI4ALL vai associar-se com vídeos demonstrativos de aplicações desenvolvidas e em desenvolvimento, focadas em tecnologias que promovem a autonomia e a qualidade de vida de pessoas com deficiência e de pessoas idosas ("Tecnologias de Assistência e Reabilitação para Pessoas com Limitações Motoras e Neurofuncionais" ).
