I first got involved in the lab during the summer of 2022. I was approaching my last year of high school, and I wanted to devote the summer to an enriching project that would solidify my decision to study math in college. Caleb Ashley welcomed me into a partnered exploration of projective geometry. I learned a ton of new and exciting math, but more importantly, I learned how math can be creative, exploratory, and fun. Professor Ashley has since been a mentor of mine, and I joined him again in the summer of 2024 to embark on a similarly exciting study of Kleinian groups. Outside of ExpMMLL, a current fascination I have is the idea that "Your computations should be as robust as your proofs", as pointed out to me by a math major friend and as exemplified beautifully in Dr. Jamison Wolf's Probability elective.Â
