I joined the ExpMMLL in 2024 because I saw an opportunity to apply all of the math that I had learned in the previous years to abstract and even real world problems. Having that kind of opportunity is rare in the classroom, so I’m grateful to have been able to attend talks from different professors and graduate students and work alongside other students in projects like the Coxeter and Artin Group project. This project in particular has allowed me further my understanding of group theory and educated me on the topic of machine learning through coding and research.
