A collection of astro-images
The universe is a beautiful (and scary) place. Shown on this site are a collection of images captured over a period of just a few years on only a very small part of the universe.
Equipment settings used are also shown with each image as well as a summary of steps used to capture and process the final result. After much research, I've kept the steps as simple as possible so that anyone with the right equipment can capture images as good or better than those shown here.
All you need to do is to navigate to the processing pages on the links below to see how easy it is to get the best out of post-processing the images you have captured. I have also included a powerpoint presentation on one of the links below that explains in simple terms the finer points of astrophotography with notes (very useful) and this also includes a short video. I believe that this is a MUST HAVE especially for beginners. Due to its size, you may need to download it first. Please feel free to use it as you see fit as long as you acknowledge the author, namely me.
Note: The picture taken here of me is in front of the Western Sydney University observatory at Werrington, NOT at the Linden observatory. The equipment used mostly to get these images are to the left of me (white telescope) as shown above.
