How to start a new club

Step 1. Think of an idea or concept you think many people will be able to relate to or would be interested in participating in!

Step 2. Find a sponsor teacher who will be your overseeing adult, as well as figure out your meeting room and date.

Step 3. Get a caucus form from Ms. Sihota (in the office), fill it out and return it back to her.

Step 4. Once tentatively approved by the administration, Student Government will reach out to invite you to present at a Monday after-school Student Gov meeting for final approval.

Step 5. Come present to Student Government!

Once all 5 of these steps are completed, your club is ready to go with advertisements, events and meetings!

How to get approval / book an event

Step 1. Get a caucus form from Ms. Sihota (in the office), fill it out and return it back to her.

Step 2. Wait to get a response from the administration and they may ask that you book a time to present at a Wednesday morning caucus meeting (in the office).

Step 3. Book the venue (Cafeteria, MPR etc) with Ms Longridge in the office. Once you have scheduled a date, time and location with her, fill out the Facility Booking Form and send to Ms Longridge, Mr Rong Fu Ni, Mr Christopher Sing and Mr Johnny Clado. The facility booking form can be found at docs.google.com/document/d/1Ln7KXqQW43ipBDDR8QKmYkpMrC2lfSL7/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=106837032419535720856&rtpof=true&sd=true

(make sure you make a copy of the form before using it.)

Step 4. If you require use of the sound system, please see Student Government at least 1 week before your event to arrange use.

How to borrow SG materials

Step 1: Email your assigned Student Government Liaison at least 3 DAYS in advance. The list can be found here:

Step 2: List all the materials needed in exact numbers. Your liaison will be responsible for preparing your materials for you beforehand.

Step 3: Return all materials in the condition you've received them in on the return date you are assigned through your liaison.

Also, please note that the return must be made in 5 days. It is expected that materials are returned in good condition. For instance, paint brushes must be washed promptly and returned clear of paint residue. If the materials are not returned in appropriate condition, a warning will be issued through email to the club’s president and sponsor teacher. If materials are once again returned in poor condition, the club will no longer be permitted to borrow materials.
