It is always suggested that outdoor grills have a cover, especially when near the ocean. This will prevent oxidation & enable your grill & its parts to last longer.
When ready to use, please do not season meats directly on grill surfaces. Heavily marinated meats are also not advised. All this excess salts & oils drip into the burners and inhibit their performance.
After each use, it is advised that you turn on the grill to HIGH and close the lid. Leave it on for about 15 min. This will burn off any excess grease & food debris will turn to ash instead of accumulating on your grill’s parts.
Also, if possible after grill has cooled off wipe the back portion. This can be done with a paper towel. This will prevent grease collecting on the surface & becoming burnt on grease.
From time to time, please remember to empty out the trays from underneath the burners.
