Four sets of indicators were designed by a group of subject matter experts to respond to the evolving needs of the early childhood education system. They were designed to provide guidance to states, local communities and early childhood programs wishing to improve the quality of inclusive experiences for young children and their families. They include: (a) State Indicators, (b) Community Indicators, (c) Local Program Indicators, and (d) Early Care and Education Environment Indicators.
BBHE staff developed a set of resources to support implementation of the Early Care and Education Environment Indicators, which are designed to address quality inclusion at the classroom level. The set was developed to provide early childhood/early childhood special education leaders, professional development providers (e.g., faculty, instructors, coaches, mentors, technical assistance providers, supervisors), individual professionals, families, and others who want to support each and every child with a set of free and readily available professional resources to support their learning and applications.
