Upcoming Events

There have been 2 successful Music Social-Jam Afternoons at the Beaver Bank Kinsac Community Centre. They were held on Sunday Feb. 17th and Sunday March 10th from 2 to 4pm. People are encouraged to bring their instruments, singing voices, a friend or just themselves. About 30 people attended each time and all seemed to enjoy themselves. We are planning the next one hopefully to be held sometime in April. We would appreciate any suggestions you might have for any changes and improvements. You can call the organizers Mary Barrett 902-864-2144, Nancy/Lyle Mailman 902-864-6574, Susan Partridge 902-252-0799.

The next Spring Shredathon organized by the Hub at the Beaver Bank Kinsac Community Centre will be held on a Saturday in April 2019. We do not have an exact date yet but you can look here and we will update you as soon as we know the date. You can also call us at the Hub office 902-252-3291. Bring your personal and confidential documents to have them shredded while you wait. The cost is either a cash donation or a full bag of grocery items, which we will donate to the Beacon House. We thank Iron Mountain for donating their Shredding services.

Djembe Drumming with Dr. Henry Bishop starts again Fridays, January 11th at 10am. Drums are available to borrow or bring your own. All levels of drumming are welcomed. Classes are $10 per class. Give Susan (902-252-0799) a call if you have any questions.

Also, Fitness with Lynn starts January 14th on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10am. Give the Hub a call at 902-252-3291, if you have any questions.

The Hub office has reopened for 2019. We hope everyone had a great holiday and we wish you all the best of health and happiness in 2019. Just a reminder that we have Radon detectors available for you to borrow. This is the best time of year to do the testing. Also, you can still order Civic signs and we have some Beaver Bank Then and Now 2019 Heritage calendars available for purchase.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The Hub office will be closed from Dec. 21st and reopening again Jan.2, 2019!

Santa's Breakfast was a huge success! Thanks to all those who volunteered at the breakfast and also to those who bought Beaver Bank Then and Now Heritage Calendars. We still have some left, so give us a call at the Hub if you want to purchase calendars.

Our successful Shredathon in October netted $420.00 and a carload of food for the Beacon House. Thank you to all who participated.

After three and a half months of scanning old photograghs, taking up to date photos and a great deal of computer work the Beaver Bank “Then and Now” Heritage Calendar was produced. At the time of the Bulletin printing we still have some remaining but they are going fast. Many people are planning to send copies to relatives and friends who have left the area. We will be selling calendars at the Santa's Breakfast on Sat. Dec. 1st. If you are not able to purchase them there, please contact us at 902-252-3291 or
